Heart of Gratitude

You are at a fork in the road. You realize that each path has it's own struggles but also has it's own beautiful scenery as well. One may be a little easier (you think).Which way to go?Right or left? This way or that? The only way we really know which way is the right way for us, individually, is to pray.I don't mean a little prayer while you are cleaning house (though all prayers make a difference).I mean the kind where you hit your knees and cry out for the Almighty to show you His will for your life,His guiding hand to direct you and His strength to be a able to have a heart of worship and gratitude while taking that new road.Fasting, digging in His Word and being thankful in the uncertainty that He knows what is certain.

My husband and I are at a fork in the road with his health. He has been pretty sick and very discouraged to say the least. We need God's guidance.Does Tim need to step back from work and rely on God's provision while he heals or is God asking Tim to work through this difficult time and rely on God's provision in other ways?We don't know.So we are praying...HARD!We are praying that God makes it clear to us which way to walk. How to trust Him and if Tim needs to go natural or medical concerning the healing process.

The one thing that keeps going through my mind and giving me strength is that as long as we seek God He will give us clarity in the decision we are to make. And as long as we follow His will for our lives that is the safest place we can possibly be...in His will.I wouldn't want to be anywhere else.

To make sure our hearts are centered on God we,as a family, have taken the resolve to have hearts of gratitude. The boys and I have created this garland of gratitude.

Garland of Gratitude!

Thankful for my big brothers.-R (with help from big brothers :) )

Thankful that our house is safe from bad guys.-G (always telling it like it is ;) )

Thankful for a healthy growing baby brother.-C (always making momma's heart melt!)

At the end of each evening they go outside and grab as many leaves as they want.We write on the leaves what we are thankful for that happened that day or just in general. We started this Nov. 1st (perfect right?...it wasn't planned that way!).We will continue the leaf theme until the end of November. Then there will be snowflakes, hearts and so on according to the month but it will be something that we will continue to carry on as a family.I have already noticed a difference in our attitudes only four days in...of course we have had our moments but it's easier to see an ungrateful heart when you practice gratitude.

16 Rejoice always, 17 pray continually, 18 give thanks in all circumstances;for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.-1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

                                            What are you grateful/thankful for?
