Christmas Shopping With A Cause Part 1-Adopt A Nutcracker

Let's be smart shoppers this season as we shop for those special people in our lives. To help you out I would like to share, over the next few weeks, some wonderful options for buying locally and from companies with a great cause.

Each one of these local people I admire because they are so talented and genuine.I hope you choose to bless them through purchasing their art of choice  and also bless others with a lovely gift.

How the Grinch gave back Christmas!

First up is a sweet lady that I just met through Facebook. Her cause caught my attention and heart.I believe it is worth your time and attention as well.
Her name is Erin Wright.
This is Erin and her husband,Joshua.

This is their story....

Greetings from Joshua and Erin Wright!

We are in the process of adopting! We are excited to grow our family, something we have desired for so long. Early in our courtship to marriage we knew we wanted to have children, both biological and adopted, especially since adoption played a big role in Joshua’s family – seven adopted, all siblings. After three years of marriage, we began trying to get pregnant. However, we have experienced infertility issues the past four years. The majority of that time we discussed when we should begin the adoption process and felt a peace to pursue that dream a little over a year ago. We have completed our paperwork, training classes and home study, and we are verified for adoption. We are currently in the waiting period to be matched with a child. During this time, we are saving aside extra money, looking at grants and fundraising. We are so thankful that God has provided us with the means to care for a child’s daily needs, but in reality there is a substantial amount of money needed to bring our forever child home – approximately $40,000. The amount is significant, but we are stepping out in faith believing God will provide. We know great things will be done through our faith in God – to HIM be the glory!

Our overall adoption theme is “Beards for Babies”. We have a Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/groups/399427080428561/. We did our first fundraiser in April (adopt a beard), began our second fundraiser in June (a Beard-A-Thon), and as our second comes to a close at the end of November, we have begun a third (adopt a Nutcracker).
